Family: Charleston’s mother, Heather, earned a full basketball scholarship to Arkansas Tech University and has been inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Charleston’s father, Chad, played baseball and competed as a decathlete at Arkansas Tech University before going to serve as an officer in the United States Navy.
2015 - Charleston started playing volleyball at 12 years of age. She played her 2015 season for MGCVC (Mississippi Gulf Coast Volleyball Club) 13’s Team. She was hooked on the game and set big goals and dreams.
2016 – The family relocated to Colorado with the U.S. military. Charleston played club for Colorado Classix. They competed in Colorado Crossroads and Capitol Hill Classic in Washington DC.
2017 – The family moved to Wyoming for their very last duty station assignment. Charleston’s parents drove her from out of state to Colorado to play club volleyball at NORCO. Charleston was on the 15-white team and they competed in the Lone Star Classic qualifier, Colorado Crossroads and Greely Showdown.
Freshman Year - Charleston was a varsity starting OH at Cheyenne Central High School in Wyoming. She also competed in Track & Field where she excelled at the 100 meter dash, high jump and shot put.
Sophomore Year - Charleston now proudly wears the blue and silver colors of Air Academy High School located on the U.S. Air Force Academy base. She plays outside and right side for them.
Goals- Earn a Div1 college volleyball scholarship. Have a 3.8 GPA or higher. Win a national qualifier and nationals, both in the open division. Have a 10’ ft. vertical reach (grab the rim). Charleston would like to play oversees and in the Olympic Games. Charleston strives to give her one hundred percent in whatever she is doing.
Interests- Church, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), spending time with my family and friends, hiking, biking, swimming, and just being outdoors.
